Course Description:
This 1-day course offers the opportunity to enhance your understanding of the pathophysiology of the endo-perio lesions, use of CBCT in improving diagnosis and treatment planning as well as familiarisation with new treatment approaches and materials.

Course Objectives:
  • Discuss and demonstrate restorability of teeth with respect to perio-endo interface.
  • To become familiar with "New" vs "Old" Endo-Perio classification.
  • Being able to recognise clinical features of endo-perio lesions.
  • To become aware of anatomical, histological and pathological pathways of communication between endodontic and periodontal spaces (n.b. this includes resorption cases, perforations and cracks / fractures)
  • To understand the role fo CBCT in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • To become familiar with novel treatment strategies and materials.
  • To understand the importance of communicating with patients and need for continued periodontal care.
  • To discuss relevant perio-endo cases.
  • To perform practical exercises to cover the didactic teaching from previous lecture.
Course Requirements:
Applicants must have a BDS or have a Dental Therapist or Hygienist degree.
