Course Description:

This one-day hands on course will give you a comprehensive overview of atraumatic extraction, ridge preservation and grafting techniques prior to dental implant placement.
In addition, we will cover the principles of assessment, treatment planning and aseptic set-up for these procedures.
The course will be delivered through a series of interactive lectures, case-based discussions and hands-on model practial sessions.

Course Objectives:
  • Apply knowledge of bone physiology and healing in the assessment and treatment planning for dental implant placement in cases with deficient bone volume.
  • Consider atraumatic extraction teachniques to preserve bone.
  • Practice ridge preservation and grafting techniques through hands-on skills sessions using models.
  • Select appropriate biomaterials to use in these cases.
  • Manage complications including infection, graft failure, rejection and resorption.
